Psycho Killer Unveils New Poster Ahead of 2026 Theatrical Release

By Chaz Walker

The long-gestating serial killer thriller Psycho Killer is finally sharpening its knives. With its theatrical release just around the corner, a brand-new poster has been revealed for the film, offering another unsettling tease of what’s to come.

Based on a screenplay by Andrew Kevin Walker, the writer behind Se7en, Psycho Killer was produced by New Regency and directed by Gavin Polone, whose producing credits include Zombieland and Walker’s 8MM. The film stars Georgina Campbell (Barbarian), Logan Miller (Escape Room), and towering former professional wrestler James Preston Rogers in the title role.

After earning an R rating last year for strong bloody violence, strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use, and language, the film is officially set to hit theaters on February 20, 2026, courtesy of Walt Disney Studios and 20th Century.

A Murky and Menacing Story

Campbell leads the cast as Jane Thorne, a police officer driven by grief and determination after the murder of her state trooper husband. Her pursuit centers on a serial killer known to the media as the “Satanic Slasher,” a figure whose brutality haunts the city and fuels her mission.

Details surrounding Logan Miller’s role remain intentionally vague. Early reports suggested he plays Marvin, a goth-leaning outsider employed by the mysterious Pendleton at a sprawling mansion. Confusion has only deepened over time, with later reports even crediting Miller as the slain husband, underscoring just how secretive the production has been. The film’s narrative ambiguity appears to be part of its design, keeping audiences guessing right up until release.

Psycho Killer was produced by New Regency alongside Roy Lee, Andrew Kevin Walker, Miri Yoon, and Matt Berenson, with Constantin Film serving as co-financier.

A Project Years in the Making

The road to Psycho Killer has been anything but smooth. The project first surfaced in early 2009, when Fred Durst was attached to direct. By late 2010, Durst had exited, and Eli Roth briefly stepped in as a producer alongside Eric Newman, his collaborator on The Last Exorcism. That version also fell apart.

Polone joined the project during that era and, after years of stalled momentum, finally succeeded in getting the film made. Over time, an early 2007 draft of the screenplay leaked online, raising curiosity about how the story may have evolved during its long stay in development limbo.

Now, with a trailer released and promotional materials rolling out, Psycho Killer is at last becoming a reality. For fans of dark, psychologically driven thrillers in the vein of Se7en, this one has been a very long time coming.
