Konami Reveals a New Silent Hill Game Is in the Works

By Chaz Walker

Konami is continuing its renewed commitment to the Silent Hill franchise. According to the company’s latest earnings report, a brand-new Silent Hill title is officially in development alongside the previously announced remake of the original 1999 PlayStation classic.

The confirmation supports Konami’s stated goal of releasing new Silent Hill content on a regular basis, signaling that the franchise revival is not slowing down anytime soon.

A New Game and a Classic Remake

In the earnings report, Konami included a brief but significant update on the future of the series:

“As a continuation of our ongoing efforts, we are currently developing a brand-new title in the Silent Hill series, as well as a remake of the first installment, Silent Hill.”

While details about the new game remain scarce, the statement makes it clear that this is a separate project from the original Silent Hill remake currently being developed by Bloober Team. Beyond confirming its existence, Konami has not yet revealed the new game’s developer, setting, or release window.

One Silent Hill Game Per Year?

The announcement aligns with comments made late last year by Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto. In a year-end interview with Japanese gaming outlet 4Gamer, Okamoto explained that Konami hopes to maintain momentum by releasing roughly one Silent Hill title per year.

While he acknowledged that such a pace may be difficult to sustain, Okamoto emphasized that the goal is to keep consistent excitement around the franchise rather than letting it fall dormant again.

What About Silent Hill: Townfall?

One lingering question remains the status of Silent Hill: Townfall, the episodic entry announced in 2022 from No Code Games and Annapurna Interactive. As of now, Konami has not provided an official update on its release timing.

Rumors have previously pointed to a 2026 launch window, but without confirmation from the publisher or developers, fans are still waiting to see when that project will resurface.

The Future of the Fog

Between the original Silent Hill remake, Townfall, and now a newly confirmed mainline entry, Konami’s horror franchise appears to be entering its most active era in years. Even with minimal details, the confirmation alone is enough to reassure fans that Silent Hill is once again a long-term priority.

More information is expected to emerge as development progresses.
